Agent of Hearts

Agent of Hearts by Play’n GO

The Mad Hatter. It’s one of the well-known characters in literature and evokes both hate and love among readers. So how do you feel about the Mad Hatter as a character? Well, it’s not the main point in this review as we take a look to revisit the rabbit hole and play the Agent of Hearts slot by Play’n GO. Here’s one thing that I like about this software vendor: it consistently provides the industry with colorful characters bordering on the cinematic. Well, I am not complaining, and it’s one reason why I will show some bias towards the game in this review.

Agent of Hearts slot comes with a 7×7 grid as the play area, and it uses the Cluster Pay Mechanism, which means you need to land at least five symbols. This game is all about collecting the Queen’s Heart through the use of Keys. Once unlocked, you are presented with four Agent features which end with the Queen’s Heart Mega Wild. With high variance and a top payout of up to 5,262.5x your bet, a trip into the rabbit hole may seem like a good idea in this game.

Agent of Hearts- What You Need to Know

This is the third title in the Rabbit Hole series of Play’n GO. The first two were fun and exciting, and I have high hopes for this game as well. However, let’s take a moment to check out the game’s pros and cons before proceeding with the review.

  • This is the third title in the Rabbit Hole series of Play’n GO
  • Boasts an engaging theme that is almost cinematic as it takes inspiration from Alice in Wonderland
  • Works using the Cluster Mechanic, the more winning symbols are included, the bigger your payout
  • On your non-winning spin, there’s an opportunity to collect four to seven Random Heart Wilds

  • This game comes with a variable RTP, so always look for the game that offers better RTP

Agent of Hearts- Theme and Background

Play’n Go goes all out in the design and execution of the Agent of Hearts slot that pays homage to the work of Lewis Caroll. This is not the first time the studio tapped into this theme since there were several games with a similar running theme. This new title is a follow-up to the previous releases from the company called the Rabbit Hole Riches and the Court of Hearts. Although they’re from the same series, Agent of Hearts tries to differentiate its features and the Cluster Pay Mechanism.

In this game, watch out for the colorful characters of the story. Interestingly, these are not just used for visual effects; they are your agents in unlocking the game’s specific features. For example, you can follow the Grinning Cat and the Mad Hat. The Cat removes the symbols beneath or it can randomly transform symbols. Your Mad Hat, on the other hand, will spin and remove any adjacent symbols.

Agent of Hearts- Gameplay

The game’s impressive visuals are accompanied by exciting gameplay. As mentioned, this uses a 7×7 grid, and your task here is to come up with a cluster of at least five identical symbols. For the game’s symbols, you will encounter eight regular-paying items, and the other half are considered low-paying symbols made up of Gems in different colors. And then there are the premium symbols which we call the Agents in the game: Mad Hatter, Caterpillar, Dormouse, and the Cheshire Cat. These symbols offer a wide range of payouts, and the maximum payouts will happen if you happen to collect 15+ symbols. In the Agents of Hearts slot, the premium symbols can pay anywhere from 40x to 1,000x your bet.

As a Play’n GO production, this game comes with an RTP of 96.25%. The betting range can work for different strategies and bankrolls, and you can start with 0.20 credits up to a maximum of 100.00 per spin.

Agent of Hearts- Free Spins feature

Agent of Hearts slot offers a unique take on the Free Spins bonus. The Key acts as the Scatter in this game, and collecting three Keys on the screen will trigger the Queen’s Heart Free Spin. Yes, you read it the right way. You are only awarded one spin, and there’s no option to retrigger this feature. I know that is disappointing but what I noticed about this feature is that it plays all out all the Agent features. Once the cascades of winning combinations end, the Random Heart Wilds will play out. Here’s a look at what you can expect from the Agent Features:

  • Cupcake Splat. The Dormouse runs around, leaving a trail of a cupcake. The cupcakes explode and may remove the symbols beneath or transform these into random symbols.
  • Smokin’ Phat. The Caterpillar blows one to three trails of smoke on the screen. The symbols beneath the trails may be removed or transformed into other symbols.
  • Grinning Cat. Once the purple Cheshire Cat appears, all symbols beneath it are remoted or transformed into other random symbols.
  • Mad Hat. With this feature, six to nine Mad Hatters will appear on the screen. These Hats will also remove adjacent symbols before it change the symbols beneath them into randomly selected symbols.

Agent of Hearts- My Verdict

One of my worries about slot games that are part of a series is that they repeat some themes, features, and design elements. Although some of these repeated elements are visually impressive, the game’s uniqueness is lost along the way. In a way, the game designer becomes lazy, and the players are holding the shorter end of the stick.

Is the Agent of Hearts slot a worthy addition to the series from Play’n GO? Well, in terms of theme and visual impact, I can say that this game is a winner. But if we go by the quality of features, I’m not necessarily a fan. This game can improve by boosting its Free Spins Bonus, and I hope that the top payout of 5,262x your bet will hit you when playing.
