If you think Wild Flower looks like previous Big Time Gaming slots, then you’d be absolutely right. It totally does, but that’s not important. Looks can be deceiving and Wild Flower is not so much about what you see, but what happens when you trigger free spins.
At the time of its release in early 2021, Wild Flower was Big Time Gaming’s most volatile slot to date, and that’s saying something from the game supplier that brought us Megaways. Now they brought us this and after you’ve read my review, I hope you will be as excited as I am.
Big Time Gaming really pushed the envelope on this one and went slightly mad. There are reels in this online slot that can push your win multiplier as high as 800x. Let’s just jump right into it with what you need to know before you start playing.
Nik Robinson, CEO of Big Time Gaming, described Wild Flower as a whole new ball of wax. I’m not 100% sure that I understand what he meant by that, but he sounded really excited when he said it. I will get to that a bit further down. First I’m gonna share some pros and cons.
PROS:
CONS:
The layout of the reels is basically the same as Lil’ Devil and Danger High Voltage, two other slots by Big Time Gaming, but in Wild Flower there’s a hint of a Red Riding Hood theme with a red-cloaked girl and a wolf symbol in the game. The background is a frozen winter forest under a massive full moon.
But that’s about it. As soon as the scatters start landing, the music switches from soothing to flat out metal. The Cult’s Wild Flower starts blaring through your speakers and if you’re on earphones or a headset, you may want to take the volume down a few pegs before you blow your ear holes.
Even though the RTP is very high for a slot with this kind of volatility, the big wins are meant to come from the two different modes of free spins. The only problem is that it may take a while until you get there. Wild Flower is a grind and it may or may not pay off in the long run.
There are two different wilds and scatters to be on the lookout for in the base game. Both wilds will cover an entire reel. The red one is then one with the 8x multiplier while the blue one is just regular wild. You can hit more than 2 reels with wilds and they mix so you don’t necessarily only get the ones with the 8x win multiplier.
Choosing between 2 different modes of free spins is always a bit of a gamble. It’s quite normal that the RTP switches depending on which you pick, but not in Wild Flower. The RTP stays the same no matter what you do. So it kind of comes down to a matter of preference.
You trigger free spins by hitting scatters, obviously, and if you also t hit the red scatter on reel 6, then each free spins mode is enhanced. This is how it works:
On a small side note. I have to mention that the only way to get to the 800x multiplier you have to trigger the enhanced version and keep hitting wins with the multiplier ladder reel and you have to retrigger the free spins to get up to that level. That’s a lot of ifs. But if you get there…
Search for video clips on YouTube and you will find a lot of massive wins on Wild Flower, but be warned. You have to play for a very long time before you hit any of those kind of wins unless you are insanely lucky. But that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible.
I know it sounds sick when we’re talking about an online slot, without a jackpot, that can pay out more than €1 million in cash. Please understand that this might not happen even once during a normal human’s lifetime.
Having said that, I really like Wild Flower. Just set it on autoplay and do something else while you’re waiting for free spins to be triggered. Just make sure you set your loss limit according to your budget and dont get mad if you end up losing.
